He was eligible for parole only four years into his sentence, though now he has a hearing every year. The loss of these two officers was tragic, not only because the man that struck and killed them shouldn’t have been on the road – but Deputy Wright and Officer Bell had stopped to help a disabled motorist who also should not have been on the road due to a suspended license. Had she heeded the laws, she would not have been disabled that day and these two officers would still be here.
