Brian Nelson, the driver who killed BCSO Deputy Wright and SPD Officer Bell waived his parole hearing yesterday. He was eligible for parole only four years into his sentence, though now he has a hearing every year. The loss of these two officers was tragic, not only because the man that struck and killed them shouldn’t have been on the road – but Deputy Wright and Officer Bell had stopped to help a disabled motorist who also should not have been on the road due to a suspended license. Had she heeded the laws, she would not have been disabled that day and these two officers would still be here.

Join me in opposing Brian Nelson’s parole every year. Keep this person who had little respect for the lives of others, not just the police officers he killed, but everyone else on the road, in jail. He knowingly drove under the influence of medication and with a medical condition that suspended his DL in the first place. Visit SC Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon’s website at this link: Oppose Parole. You’ll need his name: Brian Nelson and his SCDC number: 00292367 .
