Wild Stabs in the Dark
I’ve not posted too much terribly lately. I’d have to say it’s because I just plain don’t feel like it most days. Hell, sometimes I don’t even read the news (Lord knows I don’t bother to even watch it on TV) for days at a clip. I decided to clean out the Google reader and there were a few over the last few days I thought amusing or interesting and I’d slap up here. So…whatevs:
- Berkeley County apparently spruced up their page. It’s much cleaner than the old one and easier to navigate. I wonder if they paid for it, or someone did it in house. If they paid someone else to do it, I’d like to see them keep that in their coffers so as not to raise taxes since they can’t manage their finances effectively.
- My only comment about this one is…how can it be an ‘in-flight collision with water?’ I’m just sayin’ – at the point you hit water, an actual body of water…I think you are no longer in flight. Maybe ‘controlled flight into water’ much like ‘controlled flight into terrain’ (CFIT) would be appropriate.
- And of course, the Sanford debacle. Honestly, I only skim some of the articles because I’m not terribly concerned about it. He was cheating on his wife while he ‘governed’ before, so what the hell does it matter that he’s a cheating, lying douchebag (speaking from experience, I know some that still function pretty well (at least to themselves) as lying, cheating douchebags)? It really shouldn’t change his ability or lack thereof, depending on your opinion, to run the state. I also did chuckle about how his religious beliefs have become some fodder for the whole thing. Seriously, regardless of what he believes in, he’s still human, and we all make mistakes. Sure, one would like to think someone who is religious or faithful may be a little more virtuous than the rest of us, but I think it’s absurd to think that it makes him any better than someone else who’d do the same.
Short work week for me. I look forward to sleeping in on Friday. The last few days and a large portion of last week have been a little hectic. Some days I hit the ground running and don’t park my ass at my desk for more than an hour or so a day, and that’s often around lunch time or 5 o’clock. It’s seriously been hampering my ability to goof off complete paperwork and other projects.
I’m excited for the weekend, I’m going to hit the beach on Saturday with Justin and Coleman, and I assume some other people there. Last beach excursion in April (Damn, it seems so far away, yet so vivid in memory) I got a spotted sunburn because someone was unfamiliar with such things as how to apply suntan lotion (the spray type). It promises to be fun!
