There are some quotes or phrases that I’ve heard over the years (I’m nearing 30 next month ! ) that either resonate with me or are just so poignant that I remember them. Some come from poems, others are just flat out quotes. I can’t help but think that some apply to everyone and every life perhaps at some point. Here are some of my favorites, in no particular order:
- You haven’t seen a tree until you’ve seen its shadow from the sky – Amelia Earhart
- Valor is of no service, chance rules all, and the bravest often fall at the hands of cowards – Tacitus
- Two roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference – Robert Frost “The Road Not Taken”
- Nothing good comes easily. Sometimes you have to fight to get what you want, and sometimes the most difficult fight, the most difficult times, yield the best rewards – Yours truly
- To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield – Tennyson
The list is not all-inclusive, and I will probably add more as I think of them. Ironically while some are ones that I really like, I can’t remember them all this early in the morning. You’d think if I liked them I’d have little difficulty recalling them. Ha! No such luck!
