Good cause for a good guy - “Leg for Louie”
By Chris | June 17, 2008
I know Louie from Pine Ridge Fire Department, when I volunteered with them, and I saw him the other week at a fire in my subdivision. Louie is a good guy, great sense of humor, and for those that do not know, he has a prosthetic leg from a motorcylcle collision 29 years ago - but it doesn’t keep him from volunteering with the fire department. A friend is collecting to purchase Louie a new prosthetic leg, as his current one is old and weathered. You can read about the drive to purchase a new leg, which costs upwards of $15,000 and it’s a good cause. The link for the story in the P&C is here. The Post & Courier also ran a story in late April about Louie, you can link to it from the story above, or view the original story here.
