First Freak-Out of 2008
By Chris | March 5, 2008
Congratulations Charleston area, you’ve successfully added the first freak-out about nothing to the list. Yesterday’s weather was nothing more than a thunderstorm, the likes of which we see more of (and worse!) in the summer. But never fail, the weather clowns drummed it up like it was going to suck the tri-county area off of the map and the citizens ate it up and equally freaked out. Tornado warnings you say? Same shit happens in the summer. OMG! Rain! OMG! Wind! Aaaaaahhhhhhh!
For the record, yesterday there were more accidents at work in the AM, before it was even really cloudy or gusty than there was the remainder of the day.

The fellow was coming to trim my oak tree yesterday - especially a large limb that hovers over my neighbor’s yard. Vehicles were moved, driveways cleared but no tree-man.
I called and he said all his jobs were canceled because he had to tie things down and prepare his nursery for the massive storm that was heading our way between 2:00 and 8:00 pm!
My oak tree was not bothered by the afternoon rain.

My garden enjoyed the rain, and the wind didn’t do anything terrible either.

Well, the wind did make a tangled mess out of my wind chimes!!!
That was the day we came home from Atlanta. There was turbulence and there was rain, I was scared, I may have even wet my pants, but all in all it wasn’t as bad as they were saying in the ATL airport weather channels.
I am sure AirTran will get the finger grooves out of the arm rests eventually.
