Kids In The Street

By Chris | October 9, 2007

The toddler killed in North Charleston by the hit and run driver is tragic, I will not dispute that.  It does leave a few questions, however.  Why was a two year old in the street, unaccompanied by a responsible adult?  How the hell do you run over a child and say ‘I felt a bump but didn’t see anything so I kept going?’

They keep complaining about the speed, yet the police (who is more believable) say that speed was not an issue.  It’s a typical PWK issue - if your kids play in the damned street (where they should NOT be) you think any speed faster than walking is too fast.  Unfortunately with the driver in custody the blame will be placed on him and not the parents/guardians for ensuring the child’s safety.

In any event, I remember when I’d get my azz kicked for being in the street….and that was when I was older.  I’m 100% certain I wasn’t in the street when I was two years old.

Did anyone get my reference from the title?
