I saw on another blog that 96 Wave is going away. Fine with me, they sucked in recent years anyways. When I first got here in 1997 they were a great station. It was that same year, IIRC that WALC 100.5 ‘Alice’ also started, and they were not that
bad either – a little more ‘mellow’ than 96Wave. Now known as ‘The Drive at 100.5′ it’s usually what we listen to at work, or even Sunny 96.9. Something neutral. Charleston’s radio stations have been in decline for the better part of the last decade. 95SX gave me hope, only to play crap when ‘DJ Willy Will’ appeared on the air. Honestly, if I wanted to hear R&B and that similar shit, I’d tune into one of those stations. I have XM Radio in the new truck, and it’s great. It’s not exactly commercial free like they say they are, but I can handle one 30 second commercial every hour instead of multiple five minute commercial breaks in one hour. I’ve considered buying an XM receiver to use at work too. Then I would be able to listen to it at work, and the rest of us in dispatch would be able to as well. I haven’t decided if I want to do it, or if I would leave it there when I’m not at work.

Does it remove smaller airplanes, like a Cessna or Beech?
