Well…

By Chris | July 16, 2007

I slapped WordPress up on NIMSsucks.com. Mainly for the fact that a) it’s ready to go immediately upon installation and b) I know how to use it already. Jared had also suggested I stick with instead of Joomla!.

I took my Class E license test at the DMV today. I passed. Yay. Now I can legally drive fire apparatus. It’s not that I’ve not been doing it (how about 3+ years), it’s just I never bothered to get the actual license, as the permit was sufficient. We changed the insurance carrier at the FD, which required that you had the actual license instead of the permit in order to operate the vehicle running code (lights/siren) to an emergency call. Prior to that it was okay (per our supervision) to do that with a permit in lieu of a license. It’s important to note that I did already have a Class D license. Class E just means you can drive Class D vehicles (cars, etc) and non-commercial trucks over 26,000 lbs. There are more restrictions but I’m not going to explain them. Mosey on over to the DMV if you’re that interested.

The 2007 SCFFA Conference is this week up in the dumpster of SC (Myrtle Beach). I’m so tired of every convention or every group meeting being at Myrtle Beach. Ugh, it makes me want to vomit. MB is like NJ….only it’s in SC. I’ll venture up there on either Friday or Saturday, haven’t decided yet. I plan on having plenty of pictures of shiny new apparatus. It’s my favorite part and really the only event I bother going to.

I think it’s nap time .
