Go Rays! (and other schtuff)
Last night after getting back from a rainy drive home from Myrtle Beach, I went with Justin to see the Stingrays vs. the Gladiators (I don’t remember where they’re from). The Rays lost, 8-3.
It was a fun game, I enjoyed watching it. We sat in some seats that BB&T gets, they were really good – third row up near the goal. I thought they were good anyways…I’m not all up on sports..haha. The last time I saw them was in 2002 or 2003 I think, so it’s been a long time. It’s another one of those things that Charleston has to offer that I think many of us tend to forget that are available.
I’m watching Lou Dobbs on CNN having a ‘Town Hall Meeting’ in San Antonio, TX. It seemed to go awry – he brought up illegal aliens, and there was a Latin woman on the board who kept babbling on and on and and on. My favorite part was when she stated not to call them illegal aliens, that they’re “not from outer space, they’re humans” and to call them undocumented. IMHO, they are illegal aliens – look up the definition for alien – and they’re illegally here. Calling them undocumented is just a way to remove the negative aspect of illegality from the moniker. At one point Lou asked her if she even remembered the original question. Then she slung race into it, and Lou was forced to move on. And then another man rambled on and on and Lou said that “At some point I’m going to grow tired of rhetoric.” Funny how some people place the race card. Another panelist stated that people play the race card when they have no other valid argument. I’d have to say I agree wholeheartedly.
I’ve been forced to sell my R/C helicopter, not that I have even gotten around to flying it. Financially it was a bad decision at the time, and I need to repair the damage. Not to mention the blunder (two times) by accidentally putting the heli on the wrong card (debit instead of credit), so I took a rather substantial hit back in July when I wasn’t paying close enough attention to it. It would also take a significant amount of money to get the required field equipment, not to mention the fuel (it runs on a fuel called ‘nitro.’ At this point, I think it’s best just to unload it and come back to the hobby when I have more financial stability. I’m also selling the R/C simulator software I bought as well. If anyone is interested in taking a gander at them…check out the eBay pages:
I will probably end up putting the radio (Futaba T7CHP) up on eBay as well before the end of this weekend. I don’t really need it if there’s nothing to install it in!
I think we were going to head to see the West Farm Corn Maze tonight, but Justin’s passed out on the bed…so that may not be the case. (shrugs) We’ll figure something out!
Remember to VOTE NO against Amendment #1 on November 7th! If you don’t agree that’s fine…it’s about fairness and equality, not religion, so keep discrimination and religious beliefs out of our state constitution!
