Another reason to vote this year…
To vote against all the incumbent school board members! I almost forgot about that. Initially I was planning only to vote against the marriage (read: discrimination) amendment, but now I’ve another enticing thing to vote for (or against, as it were): Those bastards who raised the school taxes last year. Ahhh, yes….we all know I hate paying for schools I don’t send kids to. Speaking of schools, what I would really like to see is a fine imposed on those parents who don’t utilize the schoolbusses that you and I pay for. When you see traffic backed up around a HS or ES, just think of all those students who are being driven (or are driving themselves) to school and how many vehicles that contributes to traffic. In PA, you had to be of a certain year (Jr. or Sr.) to drive to school…since the district provided busses for all the students…for free (well, sorta…taxes paid for it). Makes me chuckle about how they always talk about how they need new busses…
An article on Mt P’s little attempt to slow growth… sure, new construction may be slower, but I’d be willing to bet it’s harder to find nice apartments since practically everything went condo in the last few years… I saw an ad in the news paper for a 2BR 2Bath apartment, er excuuuuse me: ‘condo’ going for $189,900. For $200K you could have a real house elsewhere…hahah.
There’s really not much else to post about locally. There’s an article on some schoolkid who threatened the president on her MySpace page. Granted, I hate the president….he’s a moron, evidence on how playing religion like a harp can get you elected…but…we all know you can’t make threats like that. Of course, there’s the whole ‘I’m a good kid’ angle they’re working… whatever. She got caught, and got questioned, that’s all she’s sorry for. Ignorance is not an excuse for breaking the law.
That kid bothered me. “Look I drew a heart on my bookbag!”
You also drew a dagger, what’s your point?
