My Monday is on a Friday.

Today is my Monday, as I work this entire weekend – blah :\ . Justin leaves for SVN tomorrow with Chelsea to go to Oktoberfest or something down there. Grrrr.   He’s also likely going to the FDHS Homecoming with another tonight, so I’ll barely see him before he leaves until he returns on Sunday in the afternoon or whatnot. So…that’ll suck…no Justin this weekend :( .

My last two days off (Weds & Thur) weren’t terribly productive. On Wednesday Justin and I changed the oil in his truck (he was amazed that I even do that…lol). Later we went out to dinner to Vickery’s in Mt Pleasant, which is one of my favorite restaurants. Eric came with, and we all sat outside on the deck, as the weather was fantastic. Very few flying insects to pester us as well. The food and service was great, as usual.

On Thursday morning I had to run to Mt P to drop Eric’s turnout gear off, as he had forgotten it at home in the garage. On my way they toned Co 2 out for a traffic collision on College Park Rd IFO Ashley Plantation. Some guy had his brakes fail (so they say) and he hit the rear of a Ford Taurus and ripped the bumper off, and then took out a street sign (can you say….flattened it). So I stopped there and then 201 (Chief) responded…and that was it. We really didn’t need an engine. BCEMS Medic 1 came and transported the driver in the Taurus, c/o chest pain from seatbelt/steering wheel impact. After that 30 minute delay, I headed towards Mt P. Met with Eric at some place on Coleman Blvd around 1100 where Engine 1 was out doing preplans and got him his gear. Then when I was crossing the Cooper River bridge, I decided to head to John’s Island to visit Justin at work, since I was already kind of halfway there, and his lunch break was coming up soon. I took Maybank Hwy to Main Rd. That new bridge on Maybank (Stono Bridge?) seems out of place – so huge over a tiny water crossing. The bridge on Main Rd from Hwy 17 (Limehouse Bridge?) also seems the same way. The old ones that they replaced were dinky though…and old, so both are an improvement.   About halfway down Main Rd towards Seabrook I came upon a car accident, so I flipped on the red lights and did a U-turn to block traffic and provide some amoung of warning.   There was some sort of Public Works employee who was there and had a radio and already called wherever St Johns FD gets dispatched from and they had a unit on the way.   So once they got there I watched them pop the door really quick and at that point I decided I wasn’t needed (I really wasn’t useful, just stopped to provide some red lights/traffic blocking until they got there).   I did a K-turn in the street after a few cars passed, and I realized too late that one of the vehicles was Justin.   GAH!   My well-laid plan had been messed up.   I called him at the same time he was calling me to tell me there was a truck like mine with the same red lights and stuff in it.   Haha.   He was going to McDonald’s so I met him there and we did lunch.   Worked out well, I didn’t have to drive all the way to Snobbybrook Island.   I then went home and spent $1000 of PRFD’s money for the new LAN Server and a router.   Dell says it should be here on the 20th.   Prolly sooner, they always seem to get things done quickly…which is always pleasant.
