Meducare again!

By Chris | September 29, 2006

For the 2nd weekend I’ve been off in a row, we landed Meducare. I was at home around 1500 or so and had taken apart my laptop to try and fix something on it (it’s currently together, and fixed) and my company got toned out for an accident up near the intersection of State Rd (Hwy 176) and Jedburg Rd (Rd 16). Turns out that 901 from Lebanon FD was in the area and went right to it, and 801 and 802 (Longridge FD) were there as well. Whitesville also had a few people show up. 901 (Nicky) got there and found a dumptruck off the road and there were three patients, two Cat 2 and one Cat 1. The truck was coming from the interstate and went off the road, the front of the truck hit a culvert and the truck rolled on its front end and came to rest facing the opposite direction. It basically did a ‘hand-stand’ on the front end. So they called for Meducare and I was at home, so I hopped in my truck and radioed that I (212) was heading to the station. Brandon (203) was already in Squad 29 so I hopped in with him and we headed up there. By the time we got there the helo was less than 10 minutes out, so we parked and waited. They came and landed uneventfully. I have the pictures arranged in an album here, but here are some good ones:

That’s about it for that.  I then returned home and finished putting the laptop together.  Earlier I went to Johns Island to do lunch with Justin.  He works out at that branch two days a week.  Ate at a nice place, filled with snobs and overpriced food.  It was good though.  It’s right next to the entrance to Seabrook Snobbybrook Island.
