Just wanted to write a quick one before I journeyed off to bed. Not been able to write much lately, I've just been busy trying to get the map book done, our book was in dire need of updating…it's gone about 10 years….and that's just unacceptable. There are sections of neighborhoods just penciled in.. no hydrant locations, etc. So today we drove around and verified locations of hydrants that were showing in the old book…and putting in some that weren't there…and doing everything for new neighborhoods. Plus, it's good to get out and ride the district so we can learn the district - there are places I've never gone…some nice houses out there in unsuspecting areas. With any luck I'll be done with this sometime soon. I have until 31 Aug to get it done, otherwise the trial period on this software expires, and that's it.

Tomorrow we'll be on the phones. I guess it's about time though…it's been about three weeks…actually two full weeks of training…tomorrow would be two weeks and two days…so it's about average. Tina says that we are doing well, so that's a good thing. We were on the simulator today, she said I did pretty well…there were a few things I missed…but, well…ya know - my experience is nil on that end. But I did pretty well. No one was about to die because I forgot anything.. just slightly minor things.

While riding around saw someone who lives in Devon Forest (just down 176 from me) who I used to work with at Comcast…guy named Tony..older guy, has a nice house over there in the newer section of St. Ives. Anyways, he's looking to quit in August when he finds something else…he doesn't like Comcast, and his wife said he could quit in August…so I guess now that I know where he lives I'll swing by whenever we're in the neighborhood on a call. Also saw two other guys' cable trucks parked in their driveways. Tony was always pretty cool. I mentioned to him that Comcast gipped me out of some OT on 5 July, and he said, hey, there's always a price for freedom….hehe funny. So I deposited the $100 from you for the AC Unit, $553 from Eric, and then the $240 from Comcast. Of all three I dropped this AM, only the money from Eric is showing pending. Odd. (shrugs). So long as it all makes it I'll be happy. I bought some more bread, cereal, soda and also some ham and cheese so I can make decent sandwiches. I really never liked PB&J. Bleah. That and I think the three-year-old PB went bad at some point. Who knows. I just never ate it so it sat there. I dunno.

Most of this journal entry was excerpted from an email I sent to my boy - since I figured it was a pretty good update I cut & pasted it over here. Hey, I can plagiarize my own stuff, right…LOL. Okay, it's bed time for me, mister.
