Welcome aboard AMC flight Reach Six Zero Zero Eight with service from Charleston Air Force Base to….”
Sorry, Flashback. I was driving around today, and I mentally recited the whole departure breifing from memory. Just imagine it being spoken in my voice really quickly. I used to just rattle it off while doing other things instead of looking at the passengers. I guess when you used to do it like every day for years it sticks. of course, now that I try to remember it consciously, I don't remember but the short opening.
Oh well.
It's been a good while since I have posted anything of substance. Today (Tues) was much better than yesterday. Yesterday was US Cable day, apparently….because I got two installs in our newly acquired propertly. It wasn't as bad as I had envisioned it… I had visions of coat hanger being used in place of coax. Not true.. lol. They used RG6. Anyways, they just took longer… and I went to Sonny's to see about getting the A/C in Unit 132 fixed, but there wasn't anything wrong with it. So I guess I may bring it back on Friday at the end of the day to get rid of the damned thing and hope they can fix it. It randomly blows hot air in my face throughout the day. Yeah… not a big fan of the wet hot air blasted into my face. I got home at like 9-something on Monday, and 7-something today. Skipped FD Drill again. I just don't feel up to it.. it's alot of BS and I don't wanna be there if it's going to be a waste of time. Maybe next week. (shrugs)
I think the latter part of the weekend, being Sunday, I spent most of my time planted right here, in front of this thing just wasting time. Amazing how a computer just eats up time. It seems that all the good, cute boys aren't in Charleston (Duh! haha). There's one, who shall be referred to as CCB (Cute Cola Boi - aren't I so creative) on this thing, so as to keep it benign and not name anyone directly - who I spent a good amount of time talking to yesterday and today, both on the phone and offline. I suppose I'll be making a trip to Cola soon
I hope so anyways. Let's hope it turns out better than the last few.
(Thinks hopefully)
A song that just played on the shuffle of my music library:
The Minstrel Boy
The minstrel boy to the war is gone,
In the ranks of death you'll find him;
His father's sword he hath girded on,
And his wild harp slung behind him;
“Land of Song!” cried the warrior bard,
“Tho' all the world betrays thee,
One sword, at least, thy right shall guard,
One faithful harp shall praise thee!”
The Minstrel fell! But the foeman's steel
Could not bring that proud soul under;
The harp he lov'd ne'er spoke again,
For he tore its chords asunder;
And said “No chains shall sully thee,
Thou soul of love and brav'ry!
Thy songs were made for the pure and free
They shall never sound in slavery!
